There are a number of Christian charities in Nottingham who are working faithfully to see people flourish and the city come alive. Here are four organisations you could support and get involved in:

100 Homes

A united church campaign to recruit 100 new foster homes from the church in Nottingham.

To date, 17 new homes have been approved with another 4 who are currently going through the 6 month approval process.

Could God be calling you to foster? It takes a whole church getting involved to foster a child and 100 Homes know that everyone can do something.

The Night Shelter & Winter Shelter

The Nottingham Winter Shelter is a lifeline to homeless people in Nottingham over winter.

They are currently looking for volunteers that can help in the mornings, evenings and overnight volunteers to help the Shelter staff members full a safe and secure environment for all the shelter guests. *Emmanuel House are currently only looking for daytime volunteers.

Open Homes

Open Homes is a local charity that aims to provide accommodation for 16-25 year olds who are homeless or living in inappropriate accommodation.

Their two main projects are Nottingham Nightstop, which provides emergency accommodation in the homes of trained volunteer hosts, and Supported Lodgings where hosts provide next steps accommodation for up to 6 months.

Sharewear

Sharewear provides emergency clothing, shoes and bedding to people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

All of their clothing has been generously donated by the public through various donation points. They accept clothing donations items for as men, women and children, as well as bedding, bath towels, coats and shoes.

Could you offer your home for a short period of time for refugees and asylum seekers?

Most often Host need placements for males for around 4-8 weeks to stay. But they also have opportunities for hosting women and for any volunteer who may want to host for a couple of weeks or even just a weekend. Email Host@nottinghamarimathea.org.uk if you are interested and want to find out more
