Safe Families seek to connect church families with children and families who are going through a hard time or facing particular crisis.

How to Get Involved

Volunteering for Safe Families is one of the ways you can get involved as part of the church family here at Trinity. Below are the different volunteering roles you could do to help support families in the city. If this sounds like something you’re interested in, we would love to hear from you! Just fill out our ‘Get Involved’ form.

Family Friend & Host Family

Family Friend - Family friends work directly with families to provide support.  Giving simple advice and support to parents and children, enabling parents to feel less isolated. Anyone can do this! With Safe Families, we will take you through the volunteering process and will inform and link you up with a local family that may need your support.

Host Family - Host families open their homes to look after children for a night or two, up to a couple of weeks. If you have a spare room you could host a child for a night to give parents a break.

Resource Friend

Practical resourcing & project work - You will be sent through email requests to see if you may be able to provide or transport useful items such as a cot or children’s clothing to families that need them.

This is also for anyone who would like to get involved in project work for Trinity’s local neighbours, this will be anything to gardening, painting, meal making or community projects etc. It might be that you do this with the help of your hub! This does not require additional training.
